My sister in law called me up,
Askin' me if I was interested in joining them to check out the food market near where I live, I happily obliged. It wasn't a huge shin dig, but there was some pretty good food there along with fresh produce. My nephew got a strawberry popsicle, made with fresh strawberries, yummers!

HaynMade hits the states part 2, Day 14...
Whew,
All of the fun was about to come to an end, but not without a final sha bang. My friend took me to Killer Shrimp, located in Colfax, Studio City to eat, err...shrimp, lol. First off where we sat had a killer view of the harbor, cool stuff.
I ordered a shrimp cocktail, LOADED, I mean LOADED with shrimp, cocktail sauce, avocado and cucumbers, mmmm, delish...

And then came the meal, more shrimp, lol, cajun style steamed shrimp...
Shortly after my friend dropped me off at the airport and I was on my way back to the 808. Man, what a killer vacay I had up there with my buddies. Much thanks to my Cali crew for some much needed fun n relaxation, I'll be back!

HaynMade hits the states part 2, Day 13...
A day before the ending of my trip,
Whew, we sure hit it. My chef friend called me up and we hit the street, back to "Little Japan" or more like "Little Asia" with all of the different representations of Asian culture there. But on the way, I dug through my friend's knife bag, and totally cracked up at what she had stashed in there. (I guess it's a lil some some in case her sugar levels get too low, lol.)
But ya my friend was persistent that we check out Seoul Sausage. For those of you folks who haven't heard of 'em, they're the winners of the Food Network's Food Truck Race from season 3. After their tv success they opened a lil eatery with some of their flavorful trademark menu items.
It's quite a small lil place, but the remixed music was bangin', there was some wall art, and then...
Later that evening we met up with one of my other friends and headed to Fogo de Chao for some all you can eat Barzilian barbecue. HOT DAMN is what I have to say about that place!
So when you get there you're given these green and red cardboard oversized milkcap thingys. When it's flipped to the green side these guys come to your table and cut all of these different cuts of meat, we're talking from their house special, to ribs, to chicken, to filet minion, and the list goes on and on. We're talking over a dozen different meats.

While I waited for my food, I got to speak with one of the owners Ted Kim, hella cool guy. By then our food was ready. We went ahead n got the Galbi Poutine, the Lil Osaka rice ball, the Spam Musubi rice ball, good ole water to wash it all down, the Galbi sausage and the Pork sausage. Oh man, hot diggity dog!
With full stomachs we then took a drive over to Melrose to walk off the lunch n do a lil shopping, and oh, check out some art from the streets...
Then a few minutes away we drove to another destination to snap away at some graft art, man that was so way cool. I got to see some of my favs' work up close n personal...

And back to the food, these bread cheese roll thingys were off the hook!
The meal comes complete with a salad bar, including fresh cut cheese from this big bad boy. My chef friend said it was worth at least $2000...
Imagine me having about 3 plates of this...
And about 5 plates of this, no joke, lol...
You would think I'd be hella full after all of that food, well which I was, haha. But I also wanted some dessert. So we headed on over to Ice Cream Lab. Oh man, this place is winners! It's pretty novel, but what they do is, you pick out your flavor, and then they grab the liquid ingredients of your ice cream flavor. They then blend it and while doing so pump some liquid nitrogen goodness into it, and then poof, instant ice cream!
