Lunch meeting with a colleague...

So today I met up with a colleague and good friend of mine,

And being that she has quite a taste pallet, I'm always down to meet up with her for a great convo and new food experiences.  So today, her recommendation was for us to go and check out Superette, a local eatery which jus' opened recently here in the 808.  They're known for creating menu items which come almost completely from locally grown and farmed produce.

Between the two os us we shared a sampler tray which included a tasting of five of their different sides, which included a root salad, curried eggplant salad, butter squash salad, an ‘ulu (breadfruit) salad and a quinoa salad.  All were very interesting but the quinoa salad was hella good!

And for lunch I had me an ahi (tuna) blt, which came with a green salad and a sampling of pickled veggies...

While my buddy got her a carrot and orange soup, very tasty may I add (ya, I had to try that too, lol)...

So if you're ever in the mood for some real good quality fresh food, be sure to check these guys out!

California yet again? Day 4...

So what made this year's Thanksgiving Day a special one,

Was that my good friend's birthday also fell on that day of holiday feastage.  I was tasked with decorating and creating the ambiance for the 30+ family get together so I got in touch with my inner Martha and got to work.  Along with the decorations my friend's mom had me work with I went to a nearby Target store and grabbed what I could to make the decor a lil more personable and memorable for my friend's birthday.  I looked through my collection of photos of my friend and family and put 'em in frames for everyone to take home after the get together.  I also got some vases, candles and fresh flowers to give it a nice festive "vibe".   Haha, not bad ya think?!

Came time for the Thanksgiving grub Cali style, man, everyone threw down big time...

And let us not forget the dessert...

So to my buddy, a happy bday!

California yet again? Day 3...

So what's one to do during day 3 of my return trip to Cali?,

Why not go to Disneyland yet again with the god kids?!  Haha, yep and that's what we did.  But because we were limited in time, being that my god daughter needed to grab one of her college buddies from the airport we just jumped on our personal fav's (and no I didn't go on Screamin' California again, lol).  But what was cool this 2nd day around was that we got to check out Tomorrow Land to see the Ironman exhibit, pretty cool stuff...

California yet again? Day 2...

So we arrived Monday evening,

So came Tuesday morning, we were greeted with the next door neighbor's TP'd house, lol.  I was crackin' up at the sight.

And where did we head to?  Yep, you got it, good old Disneyland, yet again, lol...

We hit up all of our fav rides, Indiana Jones, Haunted Mansion, Matterhorn, Space Mountain, Splash Mountain and Thunder Rail Mountain.

Over at California Adventure it was about Twilight Zone's Tower of Terror, The Little Mermaid ride, Goofy's Coaster, and California Screamin'.

It was my first time riding California Screamin' and I was somehow convinced by my teen godson to go, I'm still trying to figure out how that happened.  Standing in line as we approached closer and closer to the starting gate of the ride, I could already feel my stomach turning upside down.  The worst sign of it all...right before we were to go on, a passenger from the set just before us literally spilled her guts onto the platform which the Disney cast members wiped up right away.  To top THAT off, came time for us to hop in our carts, where do they seat HaynMade?  Right in the very front next to my godson, lol.

How was the ride you may ask?  Not as bad as I thought it would be.  Okay, I'm lying it was as bad as I thought it would be.  With all of the twists, turns and drops, this 40 year old was screaming like a lil girl, lol.  But was it worth it?  Well, as I thought about it and remember how much happiness and laughter it brought to my godson as I screamed my head off, with my goddaughter right in back crackin' up and everyone in the cart practically rolling, yea, it was totally worth it.

After that was said and done, we walked back over to Disneyland to catch a glimpse of Fantasmic.  What a show that was, I haven't seen it in years.  But man, you gotta love all of the imagineering that takes place with all them creative heads to put one one spectacular show.

After the show was done, we all ended the evening with a two-time very wet and cold round of Splash Mountain, hehe, good times, good times...

California yet again?

So at the very last minute,

My good friend texted me to let me know that his mother in law was flying the entire family up for as a surprise gift for his wife's (also my friend) birthday, which happened to fall on Thanksgiving Day this year.  Also within his text was an invitation to join them.  I contemplated the opportunity and told him I'd let him know and that me going was me pending some work stuff I had to finish up before literally jetting out.

Well...I was able to close out the tasks at hand and head on out to Cali yet again, lol.
