Night out with the gang...

Tonight I had an awesome night out with the gang,

After SJW class we walked it on over to Honolulu Hale to check out the Christmas city lights, good times.  The air was saturated with fresh kettle corn as it teased my starving stomach, hahahaha.  There were families, dates and crazed groupies like ours checkin out the scenery, which was pretty nice.  There was Honolulu Hale's huge Christmas tree at the entrance of the building along with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, and Mr. and Mrs. Frosty greeting guests which was pretty cool.  And if you look at the Mr. and Mrs. Claus pic below, you'll see exactly how big these bad boys are.

Inside Honolulu Hale there were decorated trees, photo taking with Santa and a wreath contest.  I snapped a few pics of my fav wreaths, try and guess if you can figure out what they were made with.

Made entirely out of clay

Made out of corks and wine bottle tops

Were you able to figure this one out?  Made out of brown paper bags and paint swatches, hella cool

What about this one?  Made out of those foam wrapping things for pears n stuff at the grocery store, way hella cool

And with my friggen luck, the damn spare is flat to, lol...

What are the lessons to be learned:

Wardrobe malfunction at Street Jamz Werkout...

So my instructor asked me to sub for her,

At Street Jamz Werkout, being that she had a conference to go to up in Chicago, so I happily obliged.  So I guess I got a little too into it during one of the routine and riiiiiiiiiiip there went my camou pants.  All guys have gone through this in some moment of their life, ripped surf shorts, ripped jeans, ripped Dickies (which I personally witnessed), etc., etc.  But what makes it all hilarious is that "Oh shnap" reaction we all get when we do rip our shorts/pants, lol.

Anyhow, Street Jamz Werkout is hella fun, it's hip hop fitness with repetitive routines and one killer workout.  For more 411 on what it is and what the Street Jamz Werkout crew is up to, check out their blog at: http://streetjamzwerkout.blogspot.com/

Halloween follow up...

What's up gang,

Remember my Halloween post about that house with all of the killer lighting?  (In case you forgot: http://haynmade.blogspot.com/2011/10/happy-halloween-peopz.html.)  Well, I was watching on the news that LMFAO, along with Quest Crew actually stopped by, and not only did they stop by, they did another vid there for a contest for Kia, way cool stuff.

Pancho is back...

Pancho is hands down one of my fav artists. You have to see his work up close and personal to truly understand the level of detail in his work. The subject of his work varies from Asian influences, superheros, whimsey and imagination, just to name of a few. But whatever the case, Pancho's work has a nice urban n street feel to it, which I personally appreciate.

One of his classic characters is his Dinokid, a hybrid of a dinosaur and an urbran street kid.

Pancho's Dinokid was recently brought back to life, after being in hiding, at a recent show here in Hawai'i.

I'll be featuring more of Pancho's work, he's been sending me some of his classic and recent work, so be sure to check my blog out for the latest.

"Colors" at Prototype...

Tonight was the debut evening of "Colors" at Prototype at their Pearlridge store location,

The show was made up of a team of my fav local artists, good old Pancho Abalos, Remi Mead, Shaun Castro and Takumi10.  I gotta say, the show was a nice mix of color, that's for sure, from vibrant hues to neutral tones, gotta love it.  But jus' as diverse as the colors on canvas, vinyl figures, wood and clay, was the subject matter, which varied from whimsey to more serious subject matter.  But here's a few quick pics I took of the evening event.

Flyer for the event...

Prototype Pearlridge store location, with Remi Mead's painting in the window...

Remi Mead's canvas and wood paintings...

Remi Mead's clay debut and decals...

Remi Mead's plushies (all hand painted) and buttons...

Next up to bat, Pancho Abalos...

Shaun Castro's canvas work...

Shaun Castro's vinyl work, siiiiiiiiiccccckkkk...

Last, but certainly not the least, Takumi10, friggen sick work...

Lights on, lights off...

Lights on, lights off,

That's what I call this one. Around the same time that I got my Yarn Shroom Poison Fang from ESC, I got a lil gift in the mail from my good collector buddy, KennerSeaWees. At this year's NYCC, she handed out some of her magic...confetti. When I got my bag o confetti from her, I knew right away what I was gonna do with it, and I must say it's quite a fit for this pic. So along with my Yarn Shroom, my KennerSeaWees confetti, my GID Soopa Maria twin (green colorway) jumped in for one killer pic, one with the lights on, the other with it off n under blacklight.  What I didn't realize, like that of the GID Soopa Maria, the Yarn Shroom also glows in the dark, hella cool.

Scribe goodness...

You gotta love this Scribe goodness,

Snapped from MAD's Bentworld Artist Cans series.  When I saw the PR first being launched about these bad boys, I knew I needed an entire set for my collection.  I've said it time and time again, MAD's figures really look good in photographs.

Video project for the SJW crew...

So at about 11pm Monday night,

I got a jolt of creativity and decided to work on a video project for the Street Jamz Werkout Crew.  SJW is a new fitness program that involves easy-to-learn choreography to remixes from the 70's, 80's, 90's and present.  It's hella fun, and you get one mean workout, we're talkin' drenched shirts by the time the 1-hour class is done.  In looking at these kind of video projects and video openings like how you see in football games or the opening graphics for a newscast, a lot of people underestimate the work involved.  In this nealy 30 second bit alone, there's 8 layers and 78 elements in this project.  Crazy huh.  But when it all comes together, it's pretty sick.  So here's the vid below (which was completed at around 8:00am the following morning, lol), and for more 411 on SJW, check out their blog at: http:streetjamzwerkout.blogspot.com...

Get yo bootay on da floor...

Get to bootay on da floor,

That's what I call these pics, being that it kinda reminds me of a club scene.  These figures are from MAD's Bentworld Beats series.  I really do like MAD's work, because a lot of his figures has that "street and urban feel" to 'em, and his stuff really looks great in photos.
