Quite often,

Hawai'i is painted with the lure of paradise and exotic foliage, something that the tourism industry here banks off of.  But you gotta give it up to these two "brave new voices" who use slam poetry to paint a different perspective of Hawai'i's ongoings.  I'll let the vid speak for itself, so check it out...

In good ole Hilo...

So yesterday I headed to good ole Hilo,

For good ole work, lol.  But while I was there, I got my grine on at Nori's a longtime saimin shop there on Hawai'i Island, aka the Big Island.  I went for the gusto for their huge saimin, which included extra noodles and extra toppings, gotta love it!

Whew,

So today I hit it on over the windward side, to attend a Street Jamz Werkout class, and damn did I get one killer werkout indeed.  SJW is a hip hop type of dance fitness class and we swerk it to a whole buncha mixes, and boy do we get our sweat on.  But man, the room had a nice group of people all with good energy and good vibes and a hella good sweat sesh.

Good times with my buddy who helps fight my restlessness...

So tonight,

I was hella restless, with nothing to do, so I called up one of my good friends and we hit it.  In one night we went to go play some glow-in-the-dark miniature golf, which was hella fun...

Then we headed on over to GomaTei for some tantan ramen, mmm killer, and after that we hit it over to the movies to watch "Chronicle" no comment about that one...lol.

Lunch with mom...

So my mom gave me a ring,

And asked if I wanted to go n have lunch with her.  Being the food consuming person that I am, I happily obliged.  So we both got our grub on at Stage, a restaurant located in the Inspiration Furniture building, located in the Honolulu area, close to Ala Moana Shopping Center. 

For my appetizer, I chowed down on some poke (raw fish with seasonings)...

Along with some calamari, lol, I told you I like to eat...

My mom n I shared a salad...

And for my meal I got me salmon on soba noodles, mmm, good stuff, n check out all of those vibrant colors...

And then there was dessert, my mom had a panna cotta (custard) dish...

And I had me a brownie ala mode, hot damn that was super good...

Man, everything was good, even the water, hahahaha...

I gotta give it to my mom though, what a nice time I had with her, good food along with good convo.  Can't for the next one!

Some talented students...

Today I hit it on over to the Hawai'i State Capitol,

To meet up with some legislators for work-related stuff, and in the downstairs chamber some art from some talented students from Castle High School caught my attention, pretty cool stuff.
