Bday celebration day 4...

Today's bday celebration was with the fam bam,

With my brother, his wife, my nephew, my sis, her fiancĂ© and my niece.  I really wanted jus' a laid back get together with simple food and good laughs, and that's exactly what I got.

My sis n her fiancé picked up some chicken katsu, my sis in law made hot dogs and stuffing, and my lil brother made his secret chili and my bday cookie, how's dem apples?!

My bday wouldn't be complete with a lil bit of play with my nephew, ya, I'm a big kid, lol...

And then I glanced over at my sister's nails, she cracks me up.  She's always toe up always dressed n impressed for the occasion.  Check out the blinga on her nails, lol...

My fam bam rocks!

Bday celebration day 3...

The bday festivities continued, lol,

This particular evening my lil gang went to the school I graduated from to donate our time for a Relay for Life event there for the American Cancer Society.

After our lil shindig, our gang went to a bar down the road and had us some grub in celebration of my bday.  A couple of friends who were supposed to meet us there ended up not makin' it because my friend's truck overheated.  But man, all I know is was that I had sooooooooo much fun.  It was the Hawaiian version of Cheers at Shinsho Tei.  Man, the food was super good!

Below are pics of the spring rolls and steak we ordered, and missing from below are the pork chops and friend noodles.  I guess that's how quick we ate it, lol...

Much thanks to my buddies "Jarjar" and "Soopamaria808"!

Bday celebration day 2...

Day to of the Bday celebration,

Another good one of my friends Soopamaria808 gave me a ring n we booked it for a day of adventure. First one the list was breakfast at Cafe Kaila.  After our hour+ wait we sat at the counter.  I had me an omelet and my friend had a waffle n some coffee.

Before goin' to the movies to watch Wolverine 2 (of which I thought was okay), we stopped at my friend's friend's place.  It was so super cool there.  My friend's husband is a master welder/artist who makes art out of reusable materials.  The pic below is his front gate with painted spinning fan blades.

Iside of his home was a number of pieces he did, all welded with scrap metal...

Then there was this piece, which I thought was the bomb diggity, it reminded me of steampunk art...

And in one of the bedrooms he showed me this super cool lamp.  Do you see the hanger base?  Unreal...

After the movies we headed on to Koko Marina and I took a few shots there...

And then had some Thai grub for dinner at Maile's Thai Bistro.  We had us some stuffed chicken wings, pad thai, minced meat salad, spring rolls and a mixed seafood and vegetables dish, hella yummy...

For my bday, my buddy hooked me up with a brand spankin' new backpack, yee haw!  So much thanks Soopamaria808 for the killer food, bday gift and the popped button in my shorts, lol.

Bday celebration day 1...

So one of my super good friends,

You may remember I'm the godfather of her kiddies, ya that friend, lol, gave me a ring to wish me a happy bday.  What's hilarious is that this is the first year in the 10+ years that I've known her that she remembered my birthday on the correct date, lol.  I don't ever take it personal because I'm hella bad with bdays.  So she, my godson and I went on over to Uncle Bo's.  This was my first time goin' there, but oh man, gooooooood stuff.

We started off with some pupu's, walnut shrimp, steamed clams, escargot and this cheesy bread with steak n mushrooms thingy, mmm, hot damn...

Then it was time for din din.  I got the SOS (soup or stew), of which it was HELLA DELISH, my friend got the strawberry salad and my godson got this pasta n chicken dish...

Then for dessert we got this brownie dessert compliments from the owner himself who came to my table to wish me happy bday and these taro baguettes, man it was so damn good, hahaha.

I arrived home n went straight to bed...zzz.

The urban world begins to mix up with the professional world...

So while I was on vacation,

I got word from one of my friends that she was attending an education conference to listen to my boss speak on some of the initiatives that I'm a part of.  While she was sitting there, this guy sat next to her.  With me giving her some intro level 411 on the urban scene, she quickly recognized the person sitting next to her.  It was good ole Estria, a very well-respected graff artist (Native Hawaiian I may add, lol) here in the 808 and beyond.  I've done a few posts on the guy.

Anyhow, long story short, Estria was really inspired with what my boss had to say, he ended up emailing my boss.  My boss forwarded me Estria's email to follow up with him on things.  I revealed my alter ego as HaynMade and he tripped out, lol.

We met up at his studio to discuss some "back burner" opportunities, that I choose to not disclose as of yet. (So stay tuned kiddies, lol.)  Outside of the studio I took some quick shots...

But while I met up with him, he showed me some of his studios work, along with some work he and his partner in crime Prime put together for an upcoming art show.  Unreal stuff...the photos do no justice what so ever, much due to the fact that there's a lot of color slammed on these pieces.

See the two faces?

So friggen unreal...

Check out the blasts of color, unreal...
